I’m not going to make a speech here – I’m leaving that to the video above – but I just want to emphasize that it wasn’t just Obama that did this. It was everyone. It was the people who donated their money, who volunteered their time, those who engaged in conversation about this campaign, and most importantly, the people who voted. We’re not just watching history: we’re a part of it.

This election saw me involved more than usual. I got to see Obama speak when he came to Michigan State this semester, and after voting yesterday, a run-in with my homie Jared ended up with me volunteering with the Obama campaign in Detroit for the rest of the day. I took some pictures and video-blogged some of this, so I’ll post those up a.s.a.p.

I’m still in disbelief, though. Wow. Congratulations everyone. Even if you voted for McCain, or a different candidate – you’re still a part of a historic election.
