MichiganHipHop.com – Week 6/16/08

Whattup doe?

Big week for MichiganHipHop.com. Keeping up the momentum gained from our launch party/fundraiser last weekend, this week has seen us give tons of updates. Here are a few, but stay tuned to the site itself for everything else.

Dwele Interview

I got the Detroit soulster and hookman of Kanye West’s hit single “Flashing Lights” to open up about studio sessions with J Dilla, a possible reunion with the storied Breakfast Club crew (w/Elzhi, Lacks and more), and switching his style up when the right time comes. Buff1 – “Never Fall (feat. Black Milk)” and “Classic Rap

This cat is the next to blow from Michigan, and even though I jumped on the bandwagon slightly late, it’s great to see this cat on his way to stardom. We had the world premier for his single “Beat The Speakers Up,” and now we have two more tracks: “Never Fall” and “Classic Rap.” The former has him trading bars with Black Milk over a beat by Black himself, and he uses the latter to edutain listeners and show his respects to the legends before him. I’m ending this post with a slideshow of pictures from Saturday’s MichiganHipHop.com Launch Party/Fundraiser. Thanks to all of the artists, all of the attendees, and to all of my people who were there in spirit. This is just the beginning.
